What We Do

We provide fine art, archival prints to artists, photographers, galleries, and institutions in NYC and beyond. Typically, most orders are completed remotely as we ship out proofs and final orders daily. Though, we also offer local pickup from our studio, as well as in-studio consultations if desired.

Archival Printing

The type of printing we do goes by a handful of names. Often referred to as archival prints or museum-quality prints, since they are stable and won't fade, yellow, or deteriorate. The inks used have a longevity rating of 200+ years when stored properly. Those terms also imply that the papers used are acid-free and PH-neutral.

In the simplest sense, they are technically inkjet prints, as they are created from digital files using printers that spray tiny droplets of ink onto paper, albeit very sophisticated printers.

Another synonym for our type of printing is pigment print, meaning the inks are pigment based and achieve their vibrant, rich color from microscopic pigments suspended in water (as opposed to dye-based inks which are cheaper and deteriorate rather quickly).

Lastly, you'll also often hear this type of print referred to as a giclée print. This is yet another synonym for inkjet print, and is a term coined in the 90s to lend an air of sophistication to the then emerging technology.

There are endless types of printing that differ from what we offer — we don't do screen printing, offset printing (books, menus, business cards), or other forms of more commercial printing (vinyl banners, decals, or stickers).

Our Papers

Our prints are done on a range of matte, photographic, canvas, and washi papers. From Hahnemuhle, Canson, Innova, Ilford, Moab, Breathing Color, to Awagami. Each paper has its own characteristics that make it unique. The primary differences are in the surface texture (from ultra smooth to various textures) and brightness (warm to bright white).

Over the years we've worked with nearly every paper on the market, and can help guide you towards the one that best suits your artwork and budget.

Some of our favorites we routinely use are:

  • Hahnemuhle Photo Rag
  • Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Bright White
  • Hahnemuhle Museum Etching
  • Hahnemuhle Bamboo
  • Canson Platine Fibre Rag
  • Canson PhotoSatin RC
  • Innova Soft White Cotton
  • Innova Smooth Cotton High White
  • Innova Fabriano Artistico Watercolor Rag
  • Breathing Color Lyve Canvas
  • Ilford Galerie Gold Fibre Rag
  • Ilford Galerie Fine Art Smooth

If you're looking for a paper not listed here, it's likely we've used it before and are potentially open to getting it in stock for your order.

Our Printers

We utilize the most modern printers and are capable of printing 44" by virtually any length.

Prints are made on rolls and we trim by hand, so we can output to any size requested, whether it's a standard frame size you're looking for or a custom dimension.

Our studio is fully color managed to industry standard specifications. Meaning all of our printers and papers are color profiled, which ensures that prints done on various printers, or differing papers, will have matching and accurate color output. Furthermore, if you come back to us to request a reprint in the future, the output will be consistent with prior prints.
